Who we are
Carlynn McAneeley is a fragrance consultant on a mission to help you smell more and better. She turned her lifelong love of smelling things (and her 1,000 fragrance collection) into a career when she discovered a knack for recommending just the right fragrance for friends and family. Now through Dame of Fragrance, she helps individuals and organizations discover the magic and power of scent through tailored fragrance recommendations and scent education.
Carlynn has taken courses at the Institute for Art and Olfaction (California) and the Brainery (New York) on perfume literacy, fragrance appreciation, and the Power and Politics of Smell with the smell studies rockstar Dr. Ally Louks. She is especially interested in the ways olfaction can support mood, cognitive health, and self-expression.
When she doesn’t have her nose glued to her wrist, you can find Carlynn dancing, walking with her puggle in the river valley, or performing burlesque as Dame Pérignon.

Fragrance is for everyone.
Everyone deserves to love how they smell.
There are great fragrances at every price point.
Gendered fragrance marketing is unnecessarily limiting.
Perfume is art. “Dupes”(unauthorized copies) are boring. Support artists.
We can decolonize scent by using accurate and respectful language and seeking out fragrances from a diversity of underrepresented and global viewpoints.
