An intimate fragrance soirée

Host an exclusive fragrance journey guided by our resident perfume connoisseur, Carlynn. Through curated samples and expert guidance, your guests will discover the art of fragrance appreciation and their personal fragrance preferences.
You’ll be introduced to the art, history, and science of fragrance while exploring fragrances from the world’s most exceptional niche houses in this immersive experience.
Discover how to recognize top, heart, and base notes as you learn about different fragrance families and develop your sense of smell.
We will curate a diverse selection of about a dozen niche, artisanal, and indie fragrances for your guests to smell, and we are happy to customize the fragrances to a theme of your choice (e.g., gourmands, seasonal, oddball, BIPOC or women perfumers/brands, bold, character pairings - we love a challenge!)

Personal Scent Consultation

Your new favourite fragrance awaits! Through expert knowledge of the world of fragrance and careful attention to your preferences, we’ll help you find the one that feels unmistakably yours.
The Consultation Journey:
1. Discovery Questionnaire
Begin by sharing your tastes, aesthetic, and scent dreams through our detailed profile questionnaire.
2. Expert Curation
Your consultant researches extensively, drawing from both prestigious niche houses and rare artisanal perfumeries to select three exceptional fragrances tailored to your unique questionnaire answers.
3. Private Consultation
During your 60-minute session (in-person or virtual), learn the art of fragrance appreciation as you explore each curated scent. Discover how to recognize top, heart, and base notes while we document your impressions. Your consultant will also introduce you to the art, history, and science of fragrance as they guide you through an introduction to the fragrance families.
4. Extended Testing
Take home samples of all three fragrances with expert guidance on wear-testing over several weeks, learning what to notice as each scent evolves with your chemistry.
5. Comprehensive Guide
Receive a personalized fragrance dossier, including perfumer profiles, composition notes, cultural context, and your documented preferences along with expert tips on sampling, buying, storing, and wearing fragrances. A valuable reference for building your scent wardrobe.
Consultation for Two: Looking for a fun, fragrant shared experience? Discover personal scent recommendations for each of you at a joint consultation. Book with your friend, family member, or lover for the special price of $600 CAD.
Virtual Consultations Available: Experience the same personalized service from anywhere, with samples shipped directly to you and consultation conducted via private video session.

Deeper Discovery: Expand your personal exploration with three additional expertly chosen fragrances and a second consultation to refine your selections. Additional $150 CAD.
Concierge Sourcing: From limited editions to international exclusives, we locate and deliver even the most elusive fragrances directly to your door. $100 CAD sourcing fee plus purchase price.
The Smell Society
A community of curious noses

Join our community of curious noses for a guided ‘sniff’ through five curated fragrance samples with a new theme every time. Like a book club or wine tasting, but with perfume!
The Smell Society members meet quarterly to discover new scents together at intimate, immersive events, hosted and curated by resident Dame of Fragrance scent enthusiast, Carlynn.
Registration includes a take-home sample of your favourite fragrance of the event.

First, we have a catalogued collection of over 1,500 niche, artisanal, and independent fragrances, the vast majority of which are unavailable to smell in the Edmonton area. We are constantly discovering new fragrances and brands, and we can help you find a fragrance in a particular price range that meets your wishes.
Second, our founder’s lifelong passion for scent and her insatiable curiosity has led to an in-depth knowledge of the history and development of fragrance, the vast array of fragrance styles on the market, and how olfaction works.
Third, our clients call our founder a scent witch. Carlynn has a knack for matching fragrances to people based on their unique preferences and desires. You can’t get this from an algorithm or a partially trained salesperson.
Moreover, we have no vested interest in what, or even if, you buy. You’ll receive samples of the fragrance recommendations so you can try them on at your leisure before making any purchase decisions. Our main goal is introducing you to the magic and power of scent.

No. We help you find your next favourite scent from the over 20,000 fragrances on the market like a matchmaker or sommelier for perfume. We draw from big and small, niche and indie fragrance brands from around the world to curate fragrance recommendations based on your unique tastes and fragrance dreams.

Dame of Fragrance does not offer perfume making workshops. DIY fragrance making workshops can be fun, but their results are rarely as balanced and complex as a fragrance designed by a professional perfumer over the course of years. There are over 20,000 fragrances on the market today with thousands of new releases each year. We would love to help you find your next favourite fragrance from all those choices!

After purchasing a personal scent consultation or fragrance salon, we will contact you to begin the process or schedule a time. If you purchase Fragrance 101, you will receive the sample pack in the mail with access information to the online course content.
